Istanbul, Turkey
The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that the XIIth International IUPAC Symposium on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins will be held in Istanbul, TURKEY, from the 21st to the 25th of May, 2007.
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) initiated a series of International Symposia on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins and the first was held in Kungalv,Sweden in 1972. Since then ten symposia have been held in Pulawy, Poland; Paris, France; Lausanne, Switzerland; Vienna, Austria; Pretoria, South Africa; Tokyo, Japan; Mexico City, Mexico; Rome, Italy; Guaruja, Brazil and Bethesda, Maryland, USA . These symposia have become the principal interdisciplinary meeting on mycotoxins and phycotoxins facilitating an opportunity to gain an overview of research and developments in analytical chemistry, risk assessment, effects on human health, control and remediation strategies.
The meeting will comprise 25 invited plenary lectures reviewing the principal areas of the Symposium plus 77 contributed papers selected by the Scientific Committee from those submitted to the organisers. The oral presentations will be in parallel sessions during the Symposium and will be complemented by workshops on sampling and mycotoxin surveillance in developing countries. As with previous symposia, poster sessions presenting 292 posters will play an important part in the Symposium and there will be a concurrent instrument and manufacturers exhibition.
The XIIth Symposium will be hosted by TÜBİTAK-Ankara Test and Analysis Laboratory (ATAL), founded in 1994. TÜBİTAK-ATAL provides testing, analyses, consulting and training and is specialized in mycotoxins analysis and method validation.
